Mr J. W. Lash, of Collingwood (Nelson), a brother of Mr A. Lash, of the Bank of New Zealand staff, is on a visit to Te Awamutu.
Mrs F. C. Shutte, of College Street, left last evening to spend a few days in Rotorua, and will also v’sit Auckland before returning to Te Awamutu.
Mrs W. Germann, of Paterangi, returned home to-day after spending a month’s holiday with relatives in Auckland.
The m>any friends of Mr T. C. Seed in Te Awamutu will be interested to know that he has been transferred from Pokeno to the management of the Morrinsville branch cf Wallace Supplies, Ltd. The Rev. Samuel La 1 wry. one of the most prominent figures in the Methodist Church in New Zealand, who died on Wednesday afternoon at the home of his don, Mr Melville Lawry, of Christchurch, spent fifty years of his life in the Methodist ministry, thirty-four years were devoted to circuit work and sixteen years as connexional secretary of the Methodist Church in New Zealand.
Mr Andrew Brown, of Pnniu R,oad, left by the Main Trunk express on Wednesday night, having received advice of the death that day of his brother, Mr James Brown, at Porirua, aged 68 years. Deceased was highly respected in and about Wellington, where he had resided for many years, and he had many friends in Te Awamiutu, made while visiting his brother here.
