MUNICIPAL ELECTION.
iSir y —There is a lot you did not say in Tuesday's paper which had better be said. You urged us to see about getting candidates for election, and that is all very well. But have you forgotten what happened not so long ago when we had a Council elected by nomination because there were not enough *of them to make an election, taking tup the attitude of dictators. If you have forgotten, there are many who have not. These; councilors said they were not moved bs'' potion • or any pnblie meeting. They Were in office for a pertain term, and could do just as they liked, and Ithe whole of the citizens and ratepayers could like it or lump it. Now/ sir, this is;-a wellknown fact, and it's our opportunity now to see that we get enough candidates to i have an election, so that &• Council will go in pledged to represent the people and give effect to their wishes, of putting a'.few in office without election, and seeing them then claim to be there; to do as they jolly well 1 like and hang the odds.—l am, etc., i DINNA FORGET.
