A LUCKY ESCAPE

COLLISION AT RAILWAY CROSSING.

A collision occurred at the Alexandra Street railway crossing this morning at abut 8.30, when a motor lorry driven by H. McLean, and conveying a load of milk cans from Paterangi to the Te Awamutu factory of the N.Z. Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., came into contact with a railway velocipede convteying threle railway workmen from the station towards Ngaroto. The impact threw the three men heavily on tjo the permanent way, and when picked up all three were badly bruised and shaken but it is believed no bones were broken. They were G. Martin who sustained injuries to His back; A. J. Ellis badly bruised ribs; and B. Wood, minor bruises.
