An opinion that Mr J. H. Furness was holding the position of president of the Waikato executive of the' Farmers' Union without valid right because he was not the delegate of a branch was received from the union's solicitor, Mr E. F. Clayton-Greene at a meeting of the executive in Hamilton yesterday. Mr Furniss explained that when he was first elected he was a branch delegate. He said he proposed to retire.
