FOREMAN’S REPORT TO WORKS COMMITTEE.
The monthly report of the foreman (Mr R. H. Close) to the Works Committee, as follows, was presented for adoption at Monday evening’s meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council :< — Streets.—Not much work has been done on the streets this month, apart from the general cleaning up. and the cleaning of the water-tables.
Mr McPherson has taken the caretaker’s place on the Pirongia waterworks. Mr Heerdegen put me to a lot of trouble by not stopping on the job. I would like to ask the council if they could see their way clear to remove the impounding box for dogs, as they are a nuisance night and day. I have commenced cutting the pipe line from the intake.
The following permits have been issued to date:—Building Permits, (3), Mrs C. T. Rickit, additions to dwelling; Mrs F. A. Wilson, additions to dwelling: H. E. Philip, new dwelling. Sanitary connection fees (3), C. Whitehouse, Roman Catholic Trustees. Mrs F. A. Wilson. Water connection fees}. H. E. Philip.
GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE. The concrete work at the cemetery is now completed, and the men are cleaning up the track. This job cost £3O. The grass has been cut in Selwyn Park, and the Triangle, and Alexandra Street. The entrance to Selwyn Park has been planted in flowers by the Te Awamutu Beautifying Society. , „ , I estimate the renewal of the grandstand in Albert Park as £9O, as it is now, and £l3O with a roiofed-in stand.
