WOMAN'S FATAL BURNS
STANDING NEAR RADIATOR. (By TeleeraDh— Press Association.) WANGANUI, Wednesday. A verdict of death as a result of burns accidentally received was returned at the inquest to-day on Mabel Rita Clarkson, a married woman aged 35, who died in the Wanganui Hospital on Tuesday. Evidence was given that deceased rose each morning at about five o'clock to feed her six weeks old baby. On Monday morning her husband, hearing his wife scream, rushed into the room and found her standing wrapped in flames near an electric radiator. Mr Clarkson extinguished the flames by wrapping coats about his wife and rolling her on the floor. Mrs Clarkson was wearing a flannelette dressing gown trimmed with fui', and the radiator was found turned on. The baby was on a chair 3ft. away from the radiator and not injured. -Mrs Clarkson had enjoyed excellent health.
