A speaker at a farmers' meeting- at Woodville said that it was very obvious that the Waikato was from ten to twenty years ahead of the Woodville district in the methods adopted. Many local farmers had never heard of pis: recording- which had met with such fine results in the north, while they were hopelessly backward in their knowledge of ryegrass and its management for better production. "It pays the farmer to hear of what is being done in other progressive districts," he added. "We are so far behind that we cannot, particularly in these times, allow any opportunities to pass."
