Established in 1910 as an advocate, and at all times serving the interests / of the District. For 21 years the media for and on behalf of this District. A Public Meeting was held in Te Awamutu Town Hall on 28th August,. 1910. Mr H. Y. Collins was proposed by Mr G. H. White, seconded by Mr F. D. Wood, that a newspaper be established in Te Awamutu. The principles then accepted have" been maintained: — 1. That the paper be owned by a Public Company and controlled by a Directorate resident ia the district. 2. That it serve as the media and advocate for the district. 3. Subject only to such restrict tions as are imposed by lavfc * its columns be open at afl times for the expression of opinion by all residents of the district on all matters of public policy. , All residents are invited to ua© the facilities which are thus available.*© them in THE WAIPA POST. To new settlers particularly the invitation is extended. They are asked to offer suggestions based upon cessful experiences in districts wherethey previously resided, so that in this district the value of practical suggestion for the betterment of any conditions may be speedily made known.
