£150,000 BELOW ESTIMATE. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. In the course of an address to members of the Wellington section of the. New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers, Mr F. W. Fuhkert, engineer-in-chief of the Public Works Department, stated that the remedial work at Arapuni so liar had been carried out at approximately £150,000 bqlow the estimate. The estimate was announced, during a debate in Parliament upon the proposals at £500,000, so that the cost of the work designed to remedy theweakness which developed suddenly in June, 1930, has been, without the control gate, £350,000. -i)
