Miss Audrey Higginson, of Hamilton, spent the week-end With her cousin, Mrs Teasdale.
Mr Cuthbert East, editor of the Taranaki Daily News, was in Te Awamutu yesterday.
The Rev. F. A. Thompson, of Northcote (Auckland) and formerly of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Te Awamutu, is the guest of Mr and Mrs J. Bright Wilson.
The engagement is announced of Ila Mary, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Soffe, Tikorangi, Waitara (Taranaki) to Stanley Martin, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. J. Thompson, Ohaupo Road. Te Awamutu.
After having been associated with the business of Mr L. G. Armstrong at Te Awamutu fori the past eight years, Miss Daphne Noonan has resigned and will associate with other business activities. On Saturday the members of the staff with whom she has been so long associated, assembled to wish her success in the future. On behalf of the staff, Mr E. W. White made a presentation, which served as a slight tangible evidence of goodwill and good wishes.
