TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Hamilton, report on their tri-weekly Te Awamuiu Stock Sale, held on Thursday, as follows:—Cattle: A usual number of medium quality fat cows and a few pens of ox beef comprised the bulk of the offering of fat cattle. Competition was keen for ox beef, a pen of 6 well finished light quality cattle, offered on behalf of Messrs Fullerton-Smith Bros., realising £4 lis each, and values were well in advance of this week's Frankton quotations. Late rates were fully maintained for cow beef. A pen of extra good quality yearling heifers sold on account of Mr J. Murtagh, met with a very keen demand, being sold for £2 13s each. For others, the market showed an improving tendency. Although few dairy cows were offered, there was a keen interest displayed and satisfactory rates were realised for those sold. Medium quality close to profit £4 15s to £6, others £3 10s to £4 10s, lighter quality prime ox beef £4 to £4 lis, prime fat cows £3 7s 6d to £3 12s, ordinary sorts £2 15s to £3 7s 6d, lighter do £2 2s 6d to £2 15s, light do £1 15s to £2, killable £1 10s to £1 15s, stores 16s to £1 3s, others 9s tol3s, extra good quality yearling heifers £1 19s to £2 13s, poorer do £1 6s to £1 15s. Sheep: The demand for a heavy- offering of fat sheep, mostly lambs, was keen, the whole yarding being sold at values appreciably higher than late rates. We quote: Fat wethers 10s 6d to lis 9d, others 9s 9d to 10s 6d, fat ewes 6s to 6s 6d, lighter do 4s 7d to 5s 9d, very prime lambs 17s 2d, prime lambs 13s 6d to 15s 6d, fat lambs lis to 13s, lighter do 8s 6d to 10s 6d. forward lambs 5s 6d to 7s 4d stores 4s lOd to 5s 3d. Pigs: Competition for an average offering improved as the sale proceeded and the best values obtained were very firm on Tate Frankton quotations. We quote: Medium porkers £1 to £1 4s, lighter do 18s to £l, large stores 12s to 16s, lighter do 9s I to lis, weaners 4s to 7s. I
