FANCY DRESS BALL. (Own Correspondent.) The closing of the first term of the school year was marked by a most successful children’s fancy dress ball. The funds were in aid of the dental clinic and more than exceeded expectations. The hall was tastefully decorated with pungas and autumn tinted foliage. The children’s costumes were varied and striking, the chief ones being:—Lily Silvester, shop lifter; Iris Hancock, paint box; Peggy Graham, Queen of Hearts; Yvonne Rybum, Breton peasant; June Forbes, pierrette; M. Supper was served at ten o’clock and the adults occupied the floor, for the rest of the evening* Mr Benton on behalf of the children, presented Mrs W. G. Macky with a beautiful bouquet of chrysanthemums and autumn leaves, in appreciation of her services as accompanist. Cheers were given for Mrs Macky and the teachers, Mr Benton and Miss Miller.
