APPOINTMENT OF BOARD. | (By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. A. Hamilton, announced last evening the following appointments to the New Zealand Broadcasting Board:— Mr H. D. Vickery, public accountant, of Wellington, to be chairman; Mr G. R. Hutchinson, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board; and Mr L. R. C. Macfaidane, of Culverden, Canterbury. „ The chairman, under the terms of the Broadcasting Act, which was passed toward the end of the last session of Paidiament, will receive a salary of £650 a year and is to hold office for a period not exceeding five years. The term of any subsequent appointment is not to exceed three years. The other two members of the board are to receive salaries of £350 a year. The Act states that one member is to bold office for not more than four years and the other for not more than three years. The message does not state which of the two members is to remain in office for the longer period. The chairman and members are eligible for re-election. , The personnel of the New Zealand Broadcasting Advisory Council, which is to consist of eight persons, five representing the North. Island and three the South Island, and is to hold office for three years, has yet to be announced. The question of remuneration for members of the council will be decided by the board. At present the 60 employees of the company are still under notice of dismissal, but it is expected there will not be any material changes in the staff for some time.
