PRESENTATION
A POPULAR TEACHER. A very pleasing little ceremony took place at the annual concert of the Kakepuku School last evening, when Miss V Christian was the recipient of a handsome oak clock from the scholars, and a beautiful bouquet, on the eve of her approaching marriage. The secretary of the school committee (Mr S. C. Alexander) made the presentation on behalf of the children. He spoke in glowing terms of Miss Christian's capabilities and the very deep regret that both scholars and parents felt that Miss Christian was severing her connection with the Kakepuku School, as she had won the regards of all, but it was pleasing to know that she was not leaving the district. Miss Christian suitably replied, and said that what she had done was not only a duty but a pleasure, and at any future date her services would be available. (Applause and musical honours.)
