POISON AS VIRTUE
"That inoculation with the poison of the mosquito has a wonderfully curative effect on general paralysis is nothing new, but the results of two years' tests with snake venom, which were describe recently by the Director of the Port Elizabeth Snake Park in a paper read before ithe South African Association for the Advancement of Science, gives renewed hope for a very pathetic class, the sufferers from epilepsy. Two hundred and fifty cases were treated with venene injections of snake poison. Eigteen per cent indicated complete cessation of attacks, and only six per cent registered no improvement. In all but this small percentage the patients had fewer seizures, and had improved in health both mentally and physically. The I serum is composed of a mixture of the venom of some of the world's deadliest reptiles."—The Nursing Mirror.
