Indications point to a large attendance at the local Bowling Club’s euchre tournament this evening. The regulation forbidding the killing of calves under three days old for bobby calf purposes is being enforced rigidly in Taranaki this season. All calves delivered at New Plymouth are being inspected carefully (says the Herald), and the carriers employed by the North Taranaki Galt Pool have been instructed not to take delivery of any calf which appears to be under three days old.
