Before Mr Wyvern Wilson at the S.M. Court at Te Awamutu on Monday the following undefended civil actions were disposed of, judgment being given for plaintiff, with costs in each case:—
Rigden and Co., v. J. W. Johnson, claim £4 Is 3d, costs £1 15s 6d. Te Awamutu Borough Council, v. Jas. Thomson, claim £4 8s 4d, costs £1 5s 6d.
Same v. P. W. Peate, costs 18s 9d only. Holmes Bros. v. Jos. Williams, claim £2B 14s 4d, costs £4 3s 6d. Te Awamutu Borough Council v. David Bradley, claim £2 19s 4d, costs £2 0s 6d.
E. J. V. Fitzpatrick v. J. Mam, claim £l3 4s 2d, costs £3 Bs. T. R. Mounsey v. P. Grace, £6 16s Bd, costs £1 16s 6d. Same v. J. Hill, claim £2* 8s 7d, costs £1 9s 6d. John Milligan v. N. H. Price, claim £1 10s, costs 17s. J. G. Holmes v, Neil Johnson and W. P. Cullen, claim £3B 5s 6d, costs £4 2s 6d. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. W. Stewart v. D. Ormsby, claim £9 6s 2d.—Order made for payment forthwith, with 15s 6d costs, in default seven days gaol. E. J. V. Fitzpatrick v. Paru Ratiha, claim £29 15s 7d. —Order made for payment of 10s per month, with costs £1 lis 6d; in default thirty days' gaol. J. Jones, Ltd., v. J. C. Montefiore, claim £39 Is lid.—Defendant produced a statement of his receipts since March 23rd to show that he has had insufficient funds to satisfy the judgment. He added that the present had been a very lean year.— Counsel for plaintiff said he could not press for an order under the circumstances. His Worship said he would make no order, adding, with reference to defendant's remark, that "the year seemed to be something more than a lean one for many people, it was more like skin and bone."
