MUNICIPAL SALEYARDS.
Sir,—At the pedigree Jersey sale held in the Te Awamutu yards on Tuesday last considerable comment was made on the filthy state of the yards generally and also 'the pavilion. It was almost impossible to walk through the yards unless oiie was wearing.gum boots. The'manure and slush was nearly an inch deep and had apparently been there some time. The pavilion seats, to sayUhe least, were filthy. I heard one brcyer ask Mr McCullough, the auctioneer, if he could supply some "flea powder," which speaks for itself. As Te< Awamutu is considered by, visitors as a particularly clean town, one ia, at a" loss to understand why those who hold authority over the yards allow such a state of affairs, let alone the inspector of health. I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the selling square in the pavilion, is badly in need of attention. JWhe square, I should say, is '< lsf*j square; in ■hKejjMj|j| nefegjjd animals J pears to decided hijfl vendoaj™ breedejjM
