FARMERS’ UNION,
The May meeting of the Te Awamutu branch was held in the Parish Hall last Thursday. The president, Mrs F. J. B. Ryburn, presided over a fair attendance of members. Several circular letters from were dealt with. It was decided to support the New Zealand Pan-Pacific Women’s Association. In connection with a “ wool campaign ” to be held in Wellington early in July, members were asked to send home-made goods, both knitted and made-up woollen materials. Mrs J. G. Wynyard was elected to be branch delegate to the conference, in Wiellington in July. In response to a roll call, useful hints on home nursing and simple remedies for treatment of various ailments were given. Te Rore ladies provided a muchappreciated afternoon tea, and Mesdames Harrow and H. P. Hall entertained with pianoforte solos.
