Reductions were made in several instances. Three interesting contests eventuated on the Otorohanga fields on Saturday afternoon, before a moderate gathering of onlookers. Otorohanga were beaten by Otewa seniors by 9 to 8. High School beat Otewa juniors by 17 to 8. Honikiwi defeated Kio Kio juniors by 17 to nil. The Minister of Lands has advised Mr W. J. Broadfoot, M.P., that the Mangatutu block of 1944 acres, near Otorohanga, has been selected by the Lands Development Board for closer settlement. The Board will have a considerable area ploughed and grassed on each of the six sub-divisions. The land is a light loam, on clay, and is mostly easily ploughable suitable for mixed farming.
