WEDDING BELLS

BARRETT—STOREY. The historic old Anglican Church of Rangiaowhia (Hairini), erected about three-quarters of a century ago and in regular use ever since for divine worship, was the scene of a quiet wedding on Monday afternoon, the contracting parties being Lily Viva, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Chas. F. Storey, of "Woodstock," Hairini, and Henry Campbell, second son of Mr and Mrs Henry Barrett, of Koromatua. The bride looked particularly winsome in a dainty ensemble in ivory and blue, with a blue felt hat, while her bridesmaid, Miss Katharine Hope, was frocked in an ensemble of heliotrope with a heliotrope felt hat. Each carried a very beautiful bouquet of autumn flowers and" leaves. Mr Douglas Storey, brother of the bride, carried out the duties of best man. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. T. Robson, of Auckland, assisted by the Rev. S. R. Wareing, vicar of Te Awamutu. Afterwards just near relatives and some girl and boy friends of the bride and bridegroom assembled at "Woodstock," where a buffet tea was served in the dining room, and the usual toasts were honoured. Dr and Mrs Barrett left by the Main Trunk Limited for Wellington, en route for Limited for Wellington, the same evening, en route for England, where they intend to reside for some time. The church had been most beautifully decorated for the ceremony by a party of parishioners and a feature was a pretty floral wedding bell made by Mrs Peake and Miss Focke. Not many wedding ceremonies are held nowadays in the old church, but the bride chose that building for sentimental purposes, as three generations of the Storey family have been closely identified with the Rangiaowhia Church as worshippers and officers.
