Public Notices. TE AWAMUTU BOROUGH COUNCIL. "PUBLIC Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council will be held in the Council Chambers, Roche Street, Te Awamutu, at 7.30 p.m. on MONDAY, the twenty-third day of March, 1931, for the purpose of confirming a resolution passed by way of Special Ordef at a special meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council held on the sixteenth day of February, 1931, making a By-law to be known as " The Te Awamutu Borough By-law, No. 2," and to fix the date when such By-law shall come into force. The object or purport of the said By-law is as follows: 1. To fix the meaning of certain terms used in the said By-law. 2. To repeal certain sections of the Te Awamutu By-law No. 1. 3. To constitute two building districts in the borough of Te Awamutu. 4. To regulate the erection of buildings in the Borough near the boundaries of sections. 5. To amend the existing By-law as to the qualities and sizes of certain timbers to be used for building in the Borough. 6. To regulate the erection of doors and gates adjacent to streets. 7. To regulate the erection of porticos and signs. 8. To regulate the area and frontage of building sites. 9. To amend the existing By-law as to the erection of scaffoldings and deposit of materials in streets. 10. Providing for' the erection of fire escapes on certain buildings in the borough. 11. To amend the existing By-law with reference to offensive mat*ter, refuse, water closets, and sanitation and health generally. 12. To regulate the keeping of poultry in No. 1 District. 13. To regulate the conduct of persons using public conveniences. 14. To discourage the harbouring of rats and other vermin. 15. To provide for the registration and licensing of premises -used for bakehouses, for boning, curing, canning, salting, mincing, or 1 other similar processes of pre-

paring meat or fat for sale for human consumption, for the sale of butchers' meat, poultry, fish, ice-cream and ices, and for the preparation, manufacture, or bottling of cordials and beverages for sale. 16. Prohibiting the exposing of goods for sale in a position which encroaches on the footpath. 17. Prohibiting the erection of barbed wire fences' adjoining streets. 18. Regulating traffic on streets. 19. Prohibiting damage to streets and street signs. 20. Providing for the observance of directions given by means of traffic domes and traffic lines. 21. Regulating the erection of crossings on streets. 22. Licensing street vendors and itinerant traders. 23. Regulating the conduct of motor cabs and their drivers and prescribing their fares. 24. Providing for stands for motor cabs and motor stage carriages. 25. Regulating the parking of vehicles^ 26. Amending the existing By-law as to water-works and water supply. 27. Regulating bathing in the public baths. 28. Providing for the inspection of public buildings. 29. Providing for the painting of the rear mudguards or forks of bicycles. 30. Substituting the title " Sanitary Inspector" for the title "Inspector of Nuisances." A copy of the said Te Awamutu Bylaw No. 2 is deposited in the office of the Te Awamutu Borough Council, Roche Street, Te Awamutu, and is open to the inspection of the public during office hours at least seven days before the above-mentioned meeting on the twenty-third day of March, 1931.
