LORD BLEDISLOE’S REQUEST ACCEPTED. AUCKLAND, this day. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. A request that his official salary and allowance as Governor-General should be subject to the reduction of ten per cent as is proposed in the case of salaries of officers in the Public Service, is made by his Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, in a communication, received by the Prime Minister, Right Hon. G. W. Forbes. Mr Forbes has written to his Excellency expressing the appreciation of -the Government at Lord Bledisloe’s rpublic Spirited action, and intimating that his very kind offer is gratefully accepted. The Governor General receives a sa’ary of £SOOO and an allowance of £2500.
