Westport was one of the only two postal branches in the Dominion to show a greater amount of deposits than of withdrawals in the Post Office Savings Bank. The total withdrawals were £1,108,539 more than the deposits for the Dominion, whereas in 1929 the same quarter showed an excess of withdrawals of £371,000.
