BOWLING.

LOCAL PLAYERS SUCCESSFUL. Very few members of the local bowling club made use of the Victoria Park greens yesterday, but the club was well represented elsewhere. Five teams competed at the Otorohanga full rink tournament, and two at Morrinsville, while individual players visited clubs in other centres. G. F. Smith took part in the pairs tourney at Whitiora, and he won the skips' prize, defeating F. Higgott in the aggregate. At Morrinsville C. A. Finch, W. H. Wood, T. Finch and J. Hawkins (skip) were runners-up to Stewart (Matamata) in the aggregate. Each had four wins and a loss Stewards aggregate was 98 to Hawkins' 94. ,The other Te Awamutu team, skipped by H. A. Burchell, gained three wins and two Commencing their last game, against S. Cornish (Morrinsville) they had the bad luck to have an eight scored against them on the opening head. At Otorohanga R. Ross, S. S. Preston, W. J. North and T. Mclnnes (skip) won the tournament, with another Te Awamutu rink (S. Clark, S. H. Dunkley, T. W. Gee and L. G. Armstrong) runners-up. All the returned players report having spent a very enjoyable day.
