ELECTRIC MILKERS.
The machine-milker is rapidly disappearing, and when scientific men who at first discounted the possible efficiency of mechanical milkers are now found to be ranging themselves among the enthusiasts who praise it there is prospect of a much-expanded demand. Ic is on the ground of the practical efficiency of the machine that they base their revised views. A new machine will appeal strongly to those dairy farmers in the possession of either an electric lighting plant or a main supply of electricity. It is an electric milker, which is electrically driven, and is remarkably portable. The complete power unit is fixed on the cover of the pail, and all that is done to start it operating is to fix a plug into an electric light socket. It is claimed that no cumbersome installation is required, and that the complete machine is so light that it may be carried in one hand. The pulsator of this milker is driven direct by the motor-shaft, and the makers state that the arrangement insures uniform pulsation with positive control of speed regularity.
