METHODIST BAZAAR
A SUCCESSFUL EFFORT.
Teeming rain greeted the workers in charge of the Methodist bazaar on Thursday morning and continued throughout the part of the day. However, all hands set to work with a will and soon a large and varied display was ready for the inspection of purchasers. In spite of the weather the bazaar received a fair amount of public patronage. The mid-day luncheon provided attracted a goodly number, and the workers at the stalls and Christmas Tree were kept busy. The gross proceeds amounted to nearly £BO. The following were in charge of the various departments: Luncheon, Mesdames Gibson, Head, Hamerton, Vile and Olsen; needlework, Mesdames Hooper, Philip and Wills ; sweets, Mrs Civil and Bible Class girls; books and stationery, Mr Mills and Bible Class boys; cake, Miss McConkey and Miss Moore; Christmas Tree, Mesdames Andrews and Hebden and Miss E. Raine; flower stall, Mrs J. T. Johnson;,fancy work stall, Crs Scurragh and Miss Lawry; produce, Mr and Mrs McGechie; strawberries and cream, Mesdames Cullen and Grimshaw. Mr Whitton attended to the* door. The competitions in the evening were under the management of Messrs Glass and Rigden.
