WRESTLING
BIG MATCH NEXT TUESDAY. On Tuesday night the £SO aside match between Bill Bayne, the local champion, and Jack McLauchlan, the American, will be staged at the Empire Theatre. The contest will be six ten minute rounds, catch-as-catch-can style. This, the universal style; thei world over, has such a great var>etv of holds, grips and locks that can be brought into play with the feet and hands., that years of experience and practise is required to become expert. In Bill Bayne we have an athlete with great strength and determination, with the goodwill of Te Awamutu to encourage him on to victory. His opponent, Jock McLauchlan, is only 23 years of ag#, but, like all Americans, is very thorough and up-to-date, so he will make matters very interesting and lively for the local man. The professional bout will be preceded by selected amateur bouts, with a special item for school boys, for whom the management will reserve the gallery of the theatre at half price.
