SOME TE AWAMUTU DISTRICT SUCCESSES. Several Te Awamutu district farmers were successful exhibitors at the Waikato A. and P. Show, which opende at Claudelands yesterday. In the draught horse section, Mr W. G. Park scored first in the _ class for mare, any age, in foal or with foal at foot; second with dry mare; first with gelding 3 years or over; second with mare or gelding suitable for fa™] work; first and second with pa : r_ of horses; first and second with walking draughts: and first with team of three. Mr A. H. Storey secured second honours in the class for 2 year-old thorough bred, and first for 2-vear hack mare or gelding. Mr L. Kay was first with list, hack, and Mr H.' R. Clarke second with maiden hack. In the cattle section, Mr W. G. Park exhibited the winning mature Grade Shorthorn cow. Mr G. D. Hall (Kio Kio) won first honours in the pedigree Milking Shorthorn class for yearling bull, second for yeaiding heifer and also three third prizes. Mr J. W. Bensemann exhibited in the sheep section, his Romney Marsh entries gaining first and second for ram under 18 months; second to the reserve champion in the class for ram 18 months and under 30 months; second for shorn ram under 18 months; first for two ewes under 18 months; and third for shorn ewe under 18 months. Mr W. G. Park gained first prize for crossbred fat! hogget, in wool, of most money value, and in the Lincoln classes he scored firsts with ram 18 months and over, ewe any age, and ewe under 18 months. Mr C. S. Mexted, of Te Kawa, exhibited his large white pigs and gained first (and champion) for boar over six months, and first (and champion) for sow with litter.
