Electorate in which members required to be elected other than candidates drawn from the retiring members of the last Parliament are as follow. — Eoskill: Previously the electorate bearing this name w!a.s represented by Mr V. H. Potter (Reform), who became: a candidate for Eden. For this ■ seat Sir C. J. Parr (Reform) was elected in 1925, and at the by-election in 1926 Mr H. G. R. Mason (Labour) became the member. Actually the new electorate is Auckland Suburbs, and for this electorate Mr Mason became a candidate, so that Roskiil was left to select as its member a candidate who was not in the last Parliament. Franklin: This electorate was represented in the last Parliament by Mr E. D. McLemnan (Reform), who retired at this election. Hauraki: This is a new electorate created by the Boundaries Commission last year. Kaiapoi: This electorate at last election returned the Hon. D. Buddo (a Nationalist), who retired at this election. ' Dunedin South: This electorate was repreesnted in the last Parliament, by Mr T. K. Sidey (Nationalist), who-dM not offer himself as a candidate this year. Chalmers: Mr J..,McC. Dickson (Re- , form) represented this electorate in . the last Parliament, but he also retired this year. CentrlaJ Otago: Was last year represented by Mr J. Born (Nationalist), and he, too, retired at this election. It should be noted that Mid-Canter-bury is a new electorate. It "embraces generally the areas of the former efeetorates of Ellesmere and Ashburton. In the last Parliament Ashburton was represented by the Hon. W. Nosiworthy (Reform), who retired at this ejection, lefcwing Mr D. Jones (Reforjn.), : who previously represented to contest the new Mid-Canterbury seat.
