What proved to be the final " shot" of the Waitomo ellection in Te Awamutu was M)r W. J. Broadfoot's addrqss to a very large audience at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. His Worship the Mayor (Mr L. G. Armstrong) presided. The meeting was most orderly, and listened to an in-' teresting address. Mr Broadfoot rer cited the legislative enactments he i favoured and indicated new measures that he argued would be beneficial. When question time came there were a few questions put and answered. Then Mr J. A. Hawkins moved a vote of thanks and confidence, which was seconded by Mr K. Peat. Mr Bent moved an lapnendment, " That this meeting has no confidence in Mr Broadfoot asr its representative in Parliament." This was ruled out of order by the chairman on the score of its being a direct negative to the motion The motion was carried, and the meeting closed in the usual way.
