DECLINED TO PAY TAXI FARE. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) HAMILTON, Friday. Robert McCleary and Walter Clark joined a Hamilton-bound service car at Rotorua yesterday, and neglected to pay their fare. On arrival here they disappeared, but were subsequently arrested by the police, and 3d was found in their possession. _ They appeared before justices in the Magistrate’s Court, ■wihen pleas .of guilty to the charges of incuriing debts for a car hire* to ,the value oi 17s 6d were made. The police stated that the men did not intimate when joining the car that they had no money, and when they reached Hamilton they decamped. The fare, however, had since been paid. Both accused were convicted and discharged.
