Messrs Dalgety and" Company; report having held their usual, weekly stock sale at Frankton yards day, when there was a small yarding of beef; competition was keen,-and all prime quality sold at a sharp advance on late-rates; choice young cow and heifer beef made 38s to 40s per 100lbs, ordinary quality 34s to 36s per 100 lbs; choice heifers to £l3 pel* head, heavy medium-quality cows to £lO 15s, inferior and unfinished £4 15s to £7 10s, runners £3, light steers £8 to £lO. There was a small yarding of store cattle, only a few store cows and a few yearlings- being yarded; ', store cows sold at late rates. There was a good yarding of fat sheep, including some lines of really good quality; extra prime sold at late rates, ordinary quality fat ewes 275. 6d to 325, fat woolly hof°-ets 27s 6d to 325, store 2 and 4-tooth wethers 31s 6d, store woolly hoggets 25s 6d, cull aged .ewes in lalmb to Southdown rams 22s Sd, ditto 17s. There was. a small yarding of fat pigs, which sold easier than at the previous sale; there was a large yarding of'stores, which opened easy but there was. a keen demand for large stores; best baconers made £3 3s to £3 15s, light baconers £2l6s to £3, best porkers £2 6s to £2 lis, light ditto £2 to £2 4s, large, stores 31s to 365, medium stores 24s to 28s, belst weanefs 12s to 16s, others 8s to lis. A good entry of fat and store pigs, showed no change in value; medium baconers made £3 10s to £3 15s, light baconers and heavy porkers £2 10s to £3 2s 6d, store porkers £1 2s--6d to £1 6sj good weaners 12s 6d to 15s 6d, others 7s 6d to lis. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports: At Frankton on Tuefeday we had a small entry of beef, which was very firm, prices being fully 25s to 80s per bead in advance of last week's values. There Was a good entry of prime fat sheep, which sold on a par with the previous sale. A small yarding; of fat pigs, came forward, and a heavy yarding of stores, prices for all classes being a little easier. Extra prime fat cows and heifers made £l2~ 17s 6'd to" £l3, a line from the Crossing estate averaged £l2 18s lOd, heavy fat cows £lO 10s to £ll 10s, prime fat heifers £lO 19s, light fat heifers £9 10s, fat cows £7 15s to £8 10s, plain and unfinished £6 7s 6d to £6 15s, 'forward cows £4 15s to £s,' store cows £3 16s to £4 ss, yearling Jersey-cross heifers. £3 18s, extra prime heavy fat Wethers £2 5s to £2 5s 6d, a line of 128 extra good sheep on account of Van Houtte Bros. £2 5s to £2 5s 6d, prime fat wethers £2 2s to £2 2s 6d, heavy prime fat hoggets 355, prime fa.t hoggets. 30s 3d, forward hoggets 24s 3d to 245. 6d, prime fat ewes 31s sd, light plain fat ewes 235, best baconers £3 19s, porkers £2 12s to £3, light porkers 21s to £2 Bs, slips £1 Is to £1 2s 6d, good stores 365, weaners. 10s 6d to 14s 6d, small,weaners 5s to 8s 6d. A line of 120 goats made from 7s to Bs^6d."
