"LIVE STOCK FROM BRITAIN. To show the serious danger of relaxing the regulations permitting the importation of live stock from Great Britain, Mr J. P. Kalaugher, secretary of the Dairy Breeds Federation, sends the following extract from the June Journal of the Ministty of Agriculture: —

. " Since the report in last month's issue of this. Journal, fresh cases of infection were discovered on 9th May at Salt, Stafford, and Hopton, Stafford, on premises about one mile apart. The usual infected area restrictions were imposed on an area of approximately 15 miles from the infected farms, and nine further outbreaks have since been confirmed in Great Britain during the month. The number of outbreaks confirmed since January last is 102, involving 13 counties and the slaughter of 2922 / cattle, 4165 sheep, 1562 pigs, and 5 goats." '
