WAIPA RACING CLUB

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Waipa Racing Glub, held on Thursday evening, was presided over by Mr F. Quin (president), and there were also present Mesisrs A. H. Storey, A. Bond, C. F. Storey, S. A. Empson, A. S Wallace, W. Alexander, T. G. Martin, J. P. O’Sullivan and H. Weal. ' Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. T. Young and M. H. Tims. The report of the stipendiary steward in attendance at last race meeting was forwarded by the Racing Conference secretary, and after discussion formally received. A copy of the minutes of the last meeting of the Auckland Country Racing Club’s Association was placed before the meeting. The secretary reported on the amounts due by members of the Waipa Club to the Breeders’ Association, and action was deferred in expectation that outstanding dues will bej paid this month. The secretary (Mr J. G. Wynyard) was appointed to attend the annual meeting of the Auckland Country Clubs’ Association at Auckland on the 13th inst. It was decided to apply for Saturday, December 15th, for next race meeting, and also to make application for a second totalisator permit, such to be used on Saturday, May 3rd, 1929. The Grounds Committee reported on the work that had been done in banking the course. The bend going out of the straight had been considerably improved. Some of the pasts of the inner fence were stated to be faulty and will be replaced as opportunity offers.

The committee went -into ways and means of carrying out several suggested improvements, and it was finally decided that lavatory accommodation be proceeded; with, and the secretary was instructed to write to the Waikato Hunt Club and the Ohinemuri Racing Club re, improvements to their appointments recently-effected.
