FOOTBALL IN OTOROHANGA.

Sir _As a frequent visitor to Otorohanga I have been very impressed with the standard of both Rugby football and refereeing as demonstrated under the new sub-union. As. a well-wisher of this union I would like to appeal to the Union to take care to have no repetition of Saturday's games. For instance, take the Honikiwi versus Huia match; that gamp would have been more interesting from the players' and the public's point of view if the referee had not been so interested in the high school game. Further, take the town versus country match; that contest in previous years was reckoned a fine game, but unfortunately, on Saturday last, it could be placed under no other category than a farce. It will be detrimental to both the union and the game if in future the matches are not governed more strictly, as we all know it depends on the referee to make or mar a game.—l am, etc., RUGBYITE.
