MOTOR LAUNCH, MOTOR CAR, AN! A £750 PIANO. (By; Telegraph. Press Association.l AUCKLAND, Wednesday. It was said'of Roderek Gordon Griffith, who Was formally adjudgec bankrupt by, Mr Justice. Herdman ii the Supreme Court to-day, that he owed nearly :£SOOO. Debtor was stated to-have absconded. Mr C. O. Mahoney, appearing on behalf of the petitioning creditor-; said Gordon-Griffith had been the proprietor of The Mansions, a private hotel in . Whitaker Place, off Symonds Street. He had run up debtsi making several expensive purchases, which included probably the best motor launch in the harbour, a motor car, and a piano. The cost of the piano was £7so;' ; aiid : 'the sum of £6OO was still Owing.'; When pressure was applied by his creditors, Gordon-Griffith absconded to Wellington, but he could not now be traced. It was thought he had gone to Sydney. The future action of the creditors will be decided upon after the meeting at the Official Assignee's office has been held.
