ACQUISITION BY 'LOCAL BODIES.

The ; local bodies represented were": ,Mata n mata, Waikato and Waipa County Councils, Cambridge Borough; Council and fLeamington ToWri .Board. 'The conference was the outcome Qf th|si Government finally agreeing a short while ago to provide fotrttthe purchase of the area up to 15s per acre. After a thorough discussion of the wholfe matter, the meejting resolved to recommend to thieir irespective 'bodies the purchase of the ara at 20s pr acrfe. If acceptable, Ithe Matama-'ra County Council would toe requested to endeavour to effect the purchase., The meejting arrived at a 'basis of the proportionate -dost to th)e local bodies concerned as follows: Matamata CounJSy Council 30 per cent., Waipa Cbun)ty Council 30 per cent., Cambridge Bojrough Council 25 per cent., Leamington Town Board and Waikato County Council 1\ per cent.
