Press Association) WEUUINGTOIM, Wednesday. .- 'Following on the announcement recently made by the commercial manager of Ithe Ne!w Zealand Railways at Hastings regarding the Department inaugurating bus services, it was stated Officially to-day that the Department recently obtained authority to purchase bus undertakings where they were operating dn competition with Ithe railways. To avoid financial loss to private b|us proprietors by •entering into keen competition with them the Department, dlt was statied, would negotiate for the ipurchase of their plant whlare it was in good running order.
