The history of flour-milling and distribution in Now Zea’and of recent years, is not such as to make the people rise up and call the miners blessed. Millers and farmers ,can settle their own disputes, but not at the expense of the general community. The price of the loaf is already too high, and; in these days of unemployment and high cost of living, the first duty of the Government is to safeguard the poor. Regarding Coast questions in the House, Mr Holland has taken early action to secure Ministerial consideration for the problem of rivers erosion, and Mr Seddon. for his part, is co-operating in this, and urging the completion of facilities required by Westland settlers.—Oreymouth “Evening Star.”
