It was po’nted out by Mr E. Page S.M., at Petone that the Act was very specific in regard to the notification of accidents. James Wright, who had knocked a child over when driving his lorry at Petone and had failed TO "' report the accident, was fined £3 and costs. His Worship said he was satisfied that Wright had done everything he could for the boy, who. fortunately, was not seriously hurt at all, but he had nevertheless failed to notify the accident, and would have to be fined. He wished it known that failure to report accidents was a punishable offence.
