According to a well-known Palmerston North poultry-keeper, in the last 14 years eggs have never been so scarce as they have been this winter. He ventured the opinion that the prices 'ruling next winter would be higher still. This is in a great extent due to lite fact that of late years householders have given up the practice of keeping a few fowls, on the score that they don't pay.
