North Island, heavy, 5d per lb; light, 6d per lb. The market is quiet and the demand moderate. Beef: The market is very dull. New Zealand, prime ox toeef, hinds and foreaj not quoted. Australian frozen meat: Good average quality crossbred lamb, heavy and light, not quoted. Good average quality crossbred mutton, heavy, not quoted,; light, 41d per lb. The market is quiet and the demand lefcs. Owing to excessive heat trade has been exceedingly quiet at Smithfield.
