Speaking iof the advantages of experiments wi : ch new varieties of farm roots, Mr Fred. iJJye informed a Waikato Independent reporter that a variety of Swede turnip known as "Grand Master," had been'introduced in Taranaki a. year or two ago, and was gaining in popularity. It is a good keeper, a very heavy cropper, is true to type, and grows Avell out of the ground. Mr Lye said this Swede had not yet been introduced into the Waikato, and he hoped seedsmen would take steps to place it before district farmers.
