NO SUPPRESSION OF NAMES.

Before Mr H. Bundle, S.M., .this morning, George Harris. •,a ship's steward,, who has been in the Dominion only eight weeks , was charged with the theft of a large quantity of good ( s from week-end " cribs " at Gemmell's Crossing, the articles being valued at about £7. J ■' . '•'•■"
His Worship said it seemed -that, accused was weak mentally. On one charge, he was ordered to come up for sentence in 12 months, and on the others, he was admitted to probation for 12 months.
Georgina Hodgkinson, a married woman, was charged with receiving the stolen good's from Harris, and was admitted to probation for 12 months. An application for supression of the latter's name was refused, his Worship stating that whenev'er there was a conviction it must react on some relatives, near or distant, and he could not take a husband's ill-health as a ground for the suppression o*f the name of the accused.
