PROFESSOR RIDDET

TO lecture; in te awamutu. Elsewhere in our columns appears an advertisement of great importance to farmers. Professor Riddet, of Auckland University, who is recognised as one of New Zealand's leadingexperts on the scientific side of dairy farming, is to deliver an address on “The choice of manures 1 , and the manuring of pastures” at Te AAvamutu next Monday afternoon. We have heard the opinion expressed that the importance of this side of dairy farming is not sufficiently realised, and that it might be profitable if some of the energy and enthusiasm hoav 'expended on herd testing were diverted to the question of manuring pastures. If farmers in the district display sufficient interest, further lectures will be arranged, one of these being an address from Mr K. W. Gorringe on pig breeding. It is to be hoped that Professor Riddet Avill have an affdience Avorthy of the occasion.
