CONCERT AT MAGAPIKO

A most enjoyable concert Avas given to the residents of Mangapiko on Wednesday last week in the Public School. The proceeds Avere in aid of the new hall. Avhich is at present in course of construction. The neAV hall is a most up-to-date building. complete with dressing rooms, supper room and kitchen. A special feature of the neAV hall will be the dance floor Avhich experts consider Avill be second to none anyAvhere in or about Te Awamutu. The settlers of Mangapiko are confident that Te AAvamutu friends 'will often favour them Avith their presence Avhen the hall is completed. The following artists kindly journeyed out to Mangapiko and gave a programme that Avas voted by one and, all to be the best concert ever given in Mangapiko, and the fact that .all items’ Avere heartily encored—-the artists having all to give a second number— shOAved the appreciation of the audience: —Mr A J. Sinclair, musical monologue and short stories; Mr G. Corboy, songs; Miss Jean Sinclair, recitations; Mr Mills, songs; Mrs MattheAvs, songs; Mr L. Moltzen. recitation; Mr G. Osborne, violin solo; Miss Edwards, songs; Mr 'G. J. Arnold, humorous songs. The ladies of the district provided a splendid supper and when this had been disposed of the floor Avas cleared and dancing Avas indulged in till 'the sipoiler of all fun, Father Time through his agent, the clock, made it imperative that the “cease fire” must be sounded, so Auld Lang Syne was heartily sung, ancbthus finished a most enjoyable evening.
