LIQUIDATING THfc COMPANY
(By Telegraph. Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. Formal steps are now being taken to liquidate the Exhibition Company. Mr Ross the chaMrman, in the course of a statement, said the attendance wa s 3,200,498. average per day 22,538. The Government gave not' £50,000 but £30,000 (and another £25,000 if wanted), all of which was' paid back, but only £IO,OOO of the latter was required. A total of £11,164 worth of pictures was sold from the art gallery. The band had not cost £30,000 as widely stated, but actually about £12.000. The shareholders would get back 14s lOd in the £. Receipts were: Admissions £100,262, space fees £61,555, commissions £11,578, amusement park £13,172, scenic railway, etc., £56,270. The cost of buildings was £211,062, including architect's fees £10,493. Expenditure on the grounds was £31,594, wages and salaries £35,578 advertising £11,353, and the band £12;556.
