ALL BLACKS DEFEATED;
BY WEAK WELLINGTON TEAM.
(By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thie.pay.
A wet ground levels footballers as. well as cricket teams,-and so, the All Blacks found, yesterday when they were soundly trounced by a weak local 'fifteen, playing without ha'lf-a- \
dozen of its leading lights.,. The- day was wet and the ground deep in mud. The attendance was poor. New Zealand with the Wind in -their., favour, scored 11 point to 3. Against the wind they showed no form at-all till the very end, when Mill, Porter, Elvey and Finlayson ran from their own goal line, passing in succession and scored a try. Cooke and iXichplls were not playing and. Sheen was hurt, and had to retire. The scores for Wellington were tries by Tyree, iGrenfell and Tait; three penalty- goals by O'Regan and one by 'Malcolm. 'For New Zealand two tries were scored by Elvey, one by Finlayson, and Svenson converted one and kicked a penalty goal.
