Judgment waV given this morning in the case healrd by'Mr Justice Alpers at the Supreme Court,'in which it was sought to remove Mr A. G. Bigne':l from the WangahUi' Licensing Bench the action being brought by Mr S. H. Shepherd. '■< • ■■■'<■ ■•' • 'Plaintiff Was refused an order, and costs of £l'2 12s were allowed. The action was 1 brought on the plea that Mr Bignell was a shareholder in Foster's Hotel, Ltd., at. the time of the licensing election, and that he might be biased, in his .opinion on licensing matters.
The judge h'e|d,;.that there was not the least evidence of or that Mr Bignell had taken part in any decision l.n which there might'be a reasonable apprehension of bias; r
